“Neighbors” was inspired by the neighborhoods served by Kaiser Permenente Interstate. Set on a background of historic city platt maps, the murals speak of this culturally rich area through artistically rendered portraits of Kaiser employees and people of all ages and orientations from the neighborhoods. Set on maps and city plants of these historic areas, the “Neighbors” are engaged in activities that represent their interests and the spirit of the community. We were able to create this project that connected to the immediate neighborhood in which the work was installed, by partnering with photo journalist Julie Keefe, the Kaiser community outreach team, their designers and a local photo journalist.The project moved forward through a series of committee over-site meetings with Clark KJOS Architects, Kaiser Neighborhood Partners, Kaiser Design and Branding, Kaiser Executive Branch, Kaiser Agent/Art Brokerage and. .Large Format Printers and Installers.
